Qualifications

• High School Education/GED or equivalent required in CA; preferred in OR/HI.
• Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combo of education/related experience preferred.
• Certified Phlebotomy Technician CPT I or CPT II or Medical Laboratory Technician license (MLT) required in CA; preferred in OR/HI.
• Phlebotomy tech certifications (CPT, CPTII or MLT) required.

Responsibilities

• Obtains blood specimens by venipuncture and finger sticks; verifies specimen ID and sample type/volume for testing.
• Communicates effectively with other departments and physicians to facilitate flow and quality of lab work.
• Monitors and maintains equipment per regulations; follows guidelines for missed collections and difficult draws.
• Assists in ordering supplies, checks expiration dates, and rotates stock.
• Coordinates with Lead Phlebotomist to run quality controls and participate in QA activities.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
