Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• CPT I or equivalent certification is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Phlebotomy experience in acute care or clinical settings is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect blood specimens using standard phlebotomy techniques for patients of all ages.
• Receive, label, accession, process, and prepare specimens for testing.
• Verify specimen integrity and follow handling/storage/protocols.
• Perform patient registration, order entry, and related documentation.
• Package and transport specimens to reference labs when needed.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records and quality control logs.
• Monitor workflow, prioritize urgent specimens, and coordinate recollection as needed.
• Maintain supplies, equipment, and a clean, safe work environment.
• Communicate lab information and assist with inquiries and test order clarification.
