Job summary

Advocate Health in Calhoun, GA seeks a full-time phlebotomist to support the laboratory workflow. You will collect patient blood samples via venipuncture or capillary puncture, ensure correct patient identification, and promptly deliver specimens to the lab.

Responsibilities include maintaining regulatory standards, training new teammates, and providing polite phone support to patient care areas while following PPE guidelines and SOPs.

Qualifications

• Certification as a phlebotomist via AMT/ASCP/ASPT/NHA/NPA.
• Must have a High School or GED and completed phlebotomy training or 6 months phlebotomy experience.

Responsibilities

• Collect blood specimens by venipuncture and capillary puncture; deliver promptly.
• Identify patients and record details on specimens accurately.
• Prepare specimens using appropriate containers and equipment.
• Maintain regulatory compliance and SOPs within the department.
• Train new teammates and students; participate in staff meetings and projects.
• Provide phone support to patient care areas and use PPE as required.
• Maintain LIS/LIMS competency as needed for duties.
• Report problems to supervisor and perform other duties as assigned.
