Qualifications

• Certification as a phlebotomist by AMT, ASCP, ASPT, NHA, or NPA is required/preferred.
• Completion of approved phlebotomy training or 6 months phlebotomy experience in hospital or patient care setting.

Responsibilities

• Collects and/or processes patient blood obtained by venipuncture and/or capillary puncture in a timely and accurate fashion.
• Uses vacutainer tubes, butterflies, syringes, and needles for drawing blood; micro lancets and capillary pipettes for heel sticks.
