Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Obtains blood specimens from patients of all ages by venipuncture, finger stick, and/ or heel stick.
• Follows National Patient Safety Goals to correctly identify patients before drawing blood samples.
• Greets patients in a courteous manner and responds with empathy.
• Follows order of draw to collect proper specimens for tests and labels accordingly.
• Evaluates samples for integrity and prepares components for analysis.
• Distributes specimens to appropriate departments for analysis.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent
