Job summary

You will also perform patient registration, labeling, accessioning, and documentation while maintaining accurate records and delivering excellent customer service in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Associate's or Technical Degree preferred.
• Phlebotomy experience in an acute care or clinical setting preferred.
• CPT I certification required.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Collect blood specimens using phlebotomy techniques for patients of all ages.
• Receive, label, accession, process, and prepare specimens for laboratory testing.
• Verify specimen integrity and follow protocols for handling, storage, and transport.
• Perform patient registration, laboratory test order entry, and related documentation.
• Package and prepare specimens for transport to reference laboratories when required.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records, documentation, and quality control logs.
• Monitor laboratory workflow, prioritize urgent specimens, and coordinate recollection when necessary.
• Maintain laboratory supplies, equipment, and a clean, safe work environment.
• Communicate laboratory information and assist with specimen inquiries and test order clarification.
• Provide excellent customer service while maintaining patient confidentiality and regulatory compliance.
• Operate basic laboratory equipment according to established procedures.
• Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
