Job summary

Prisma Health Baptist Easley Hospital in Easley, SC is seeking a phlebotomy technician to collect specimens, verify patient identity, and ensure patient safety and comfort. You will accession samples into the LIS and related systems and help with billing and reporting as required.

Minimum requirements include a high school diploma and a 3-month phlebotomy certificate. Certification through ASCP/AMT or similar is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 3 Month phlebotomy certificate program required.
• Certification through PBT(ASCP), RPT(AMT), CPT(NHA) or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens from patients and ensure safety and comfort.
• Accession samples into laboratory information systems for testing and billing.
• Perform Point of Care testing and sample processing when assigned.
• Label specimens with correct patient information and verify patient identity.
• Communicate with patients and healthcare staff to coordinate collections.
