Advocate Health’s ACL Laboratories in Park Ridge, IL is seeking a part-time Phlebotomist to join the 2nd shift from 1:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., with rotating weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Approximately 1 year phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills and good verbal/written communication.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment and to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Verifies patient identification and ensures patient safety.
• Performs venipuncture and collects specimens from newborns to adults.
• Ensures proper labeling and testing of specimens; resolves specimen issues.
• Answers and screens calls; assists with inventory and equipment.
• Orders and verifies test requests; documents information for QA/Improvement.
• Generates reports and supports billing and other functions.
• Instructs employees and students in phlebotomy and data entry.
