Job summary

The American Red Cross in Boise, Idaho is seeking a Phlebotomy Support Associate who will assist with donor flow, prepare sites, and ensure a welcoming environment for volunteers and donors. Paid training is provided and no prior medical experience is required.

You will work with a team to transport and set up equipment, adhere to safety procedures, and help meet regulatory requirements while delivering lifesaving blood donations to hospitals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Customer service experience and effective verbal communication skills are required.
• A current, valid driver's license with a good driving record is required.
• Physical requirements may include the ability to lift, push or pull heavy weights up and down ramps and stairs, good manual dexterity, the ability to sit or stand for long periods of time and adapt to long, irregular hours and frequent schedule changes are required.
• Basic computer skills are required; proficient with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Take the time to personally connect with donors – listen to their stories and help them understand how impactful their donation is.
• Collaborate with teammates to create a welcoming environment so donors feel comfortable returning.
• Be detail oriented to ensure blood collection meets goals and regulatory requirements.
• May drive Red Cross vehicles and assist with setting up and tearing down equipment at donation sites.
