Job summary

UCLA Health in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a Phlebotomy Float Pool team member for per diem shift coverage. You will assist ambulatory sites such as Ronald Reagan Hospital and Santa Monica Hospital, performing phlebotomy on patients of all ages and helping maintain sample workflow.

This per diem role offers flexibility to work based on operational needs, with rotating weekends and holidays. A probationary period applies, with potential for career ladder to CPT II – Per Diem. Salary: $30.94/hour.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy on inpatients and outpatients for all ages
• Triage all lab samples and requests after verification of appropriate information
• Centrifuge, measure and aliquot and/or preserve
• Enter and verify patient and test info into computer
• Generate computer labels for specimens and deliver to appropriate areas
• Prepare samples for transport to referral labs or storage
• Prepare written reports to document phlebotomy draws, test results, test added, or deleted/rejected specimens
• Prepare batch or outside lab referral specimens’ documentation
• Perform inventory count
• Assist in monitoring workflow and schedules

Rather, you will be assigned to work based on operational needs with rotating weekends and holidays. Completion of probationary period in conjunction with adequate years of experience may result in a career ladder to CPT II – Per Diem position. May convert to career.
