Job summary

St. Francis Medical Center in Los Angeles is seeking a Per Diem Certified Phlebotomy Technician I for night shifts. You will collect blood specimens from patients of all ages under supervision and perform essential clerical tasks to support the laboratory workflow.

Required qualifications include a CPT I certification, High School Diploma, and BLS within 45 days of hire. At least one year of clinical lab experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Current and valid CPT I certification required.
• BLS certification within 45 days of hire and kept current.
• Minimum of 1 year of clinical laboratory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform skin puncture or venipuncture on patients of all ages for blood specimens.
• Enter data, file, answer calls, and perform other clerical duties.
• Demonstrate proper phlebotomy technique and maintain patient safety.
• Process specimens for analysis and for referral to reference laboratories.
• Assist with specimen pickup, inventory, and general lab duties.
