Job summary

St. Francis Medical Center in Los Angeles seeks a Certified Phlebotomy Technician I to perform skin puncture and venipuncture across patient ages, under supervision of Laboratory Director.

Responsibilities include data entry, filing, telephone communication; maintain proper phlebotomy technique; process specimens across microbiology, hematology, chemistry; stock supplies and ensure cleanliness; may assist with sample pickups and other duties.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Current CPT I certification required.
• BLS certification within 45 days of hire.
• Minimum of one (1) year of clinical laboratory experience, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs skin puncture or venipuncture on patients of all ages for blood specimens.
• Under supervision of Laboratory Director/Manager/Supervisor.
• Performs data entry, filing, telephone communication and other clerical duties.
• Demonstrates proper phlebotomy technique and equipment use.
• Processes specimens for microbiology, immunology, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, chemistry and blood bank.
