Millennium Physician Group in Fort Myers, FL is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician to draw blood and prepare samples for laboratory testing. You will verify patient records, enter data, label specimens, and maintain sample integrity while providing excellent guest service to patients and staff.

The role requires phlebotomy certification or equivalent, 1+ year of lab experience, and compliance with safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy certification or M.A. certification or certificate from a phlebotomy program.
• 1+ years of experience in Lab.
• Understand labeling/ID protocol, and knowledge of common lab tests, sample types, and vacutainers.
• Understand Biohazard, OSHA safety regulations for medical offices, and Universal precautions.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

Responsibilities

• Performs painless venipuncture and capillary puncture for the Coumadin clinic.
• Identifies patient following protocol.
• Prepares samples for processing w/correct label and bar code and inspects vials.
• Reconciles outstanding sample report at day’s end.
• Observe safety procedures and sample prep.
• Demonstrate excellent guest service to internal team members and patients.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
