Job summary

Millennium Physician Group in Port Charlotte, FL is seeking a Phlebotomist II to draw blood and prepare samples for testing. The role includes patient identification, proper labeling with bar codes, and maintaining specimen integrity.

You will support front desk check-in after training and assist in daily lab operations. Applicants should have phlebotomy certification or MA certification and at least 2 years in a lab setting, with knowledge of OSHA safety rules and lab test requirements.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in a Lab setting.
• Knowledge of labeling/ID protocols and common lab tests.
• Understanding of OSHA safety regulations for medical offices.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Performs venipuncture and capillary puncture for the Coumadin clinic.
• Identifies patients following protocol and labels specimens with correct bar code.
• Prepares samples for processing with proper labeling and containers.
• Reconciles outstanding sample reports at day’s end.
• Observe safety procedures and assist in day-to-day activities.
• Cover front desk for patient check-in after training.
