Job summary

Shirley Ryan AbilityLab is seeking a Phlebotomist Technician to perform venipuncture, capillary draws, ECGs, and POC testing in a hospital setting. The role involves updating the electronic medical record system, ensuring compliant billing, and providing excellent physician support.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent, phlebotomy certification, and at least one year of phlebotomy experience. Cerner or Epic familiarity is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certification from an accredited phlebotomy program or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year phlebotomy experience in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture, capillary draws, and POC testing as ordered.
• Process specimens and ensure accurate electronic medical record updates for billing.
• Escalate issues to leadership when results do not cross into the medical record.
• Provide customer service to physicians and retrieve test results as needed.
• Stock and monitor laboratory supplies and communicate shortages.
