Job summary

Alverno Laboratories is seeking a part-time phlebotomist for Outreach Phlebotomy Services at the Plainfield, IN location. The role involves collecting blood specimens, performing office duties, and preparing samples for testing in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Responsibilities include registering patients, entering data into the computer system, and handling specimen processing for testing. Travel to other sites and a valid driver’s license may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Previous phlebotomy experience and/or training is required.
• Background in a medical laboratory and/or knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
• May be required to travel/drive to other locations.

Responsibilities

• Collect blood specimens and perform laboratory office duties.
• Register patients and accurately enter data into the computer system.
• Prepare specimens for testing and/or for sending to the central or reference laboratory.
• Handle blood, body fluids and urine specimens according to procedures; may perform waived and specified non-waived POC tests.
• May act as a driver and participate in on-call rotation when required.
