Job summary

Alverno Laboratories is seeking a phlebotomist to collect blood specimens and perform essential lab office duties at our Dyer, IN location. The role includes patient registration, data entry, specimen accessioning, and routine processing for testing or shipping to central/reference labs.

The ideal candidate has phlebotomy experience or training, a high school diploma or GED, and a valid driver's license. Travel to other locations may be required; on‑call duties may be part of the rotation.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED is required.
Previous phlebotomy experience and/or training is required.
Background in a medical laboratory and/or knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.
Valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
May be required to travel/drive to other locations.

Responsibilities

Collect blood specimens and perform laboratory office duties.
Register patients and enter data into the computer system.
Accession specimens, answer calls, and process paperwork.
Prepare specimens for testing or shipping to central or reference laboratories.
Handle blood, body fluids and urine per procedures; may perform waived and specified non‑waived POC tests.
In some facilities, act as a driver and participate in on‑call rotation.
