Job summary

Concord Hospital Health System is seeking a Clinical Lab Assistant to perform phlebotomy and support specimen collection for all ages. You will process specimens, prepare transports, and follow safety and OSHA guidelines in a fast-paced lab environment.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, phlebotomy training with externship, and strong interpersonal skills to relate to diverse patients and staff. Minimum 8 hours per week availability is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Phlebotomy training with externship preferred.
• Phlebotomy experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to relate to clients professionally and compassionately.
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to perform in emergent or crisis situations.

Responsibilities

• Obtains and processes venous and capillary blood samples from patients of all ages.
• Processes clinical specimens for delivery to laboratory departments or reference labs.
• Performs duties within assigned work blocks.
• Demonstrates compliance with corporate, departmental and job-specific requirements.
• Assists in maintenance and disinfection within the Specimen Processing area.
• Concord Site only: travels to off-site locations for phlebotomy collections.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
