Job summary

Prime Healthcare in Blue Springs, MO is seeking a detail-oriented Phlebotomy Technician for per diem shifts at St. Mary’s Medical Center. Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS certification within 45 days of hire and maintained current, required.
• Minimum of two (2) years of clinical laboratory experience, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for blood draws, explain procedures, and ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the process.
• Draw blood from patients using venipuncture, capillary puncture, or other techniques; ensure proper identification and labeling of specimens.
• Organize, handle, and transport specimens to the laboratory for testing, and ensure all specimens are properly processed and stored.
• Adhere to quality control and safety protocols to maintain the integrity of specimens and ensure accurate test results.
• Maintain and calibrate phlebotomy equipment and supplies, ensure everything is in working order and properly sanitized.
• Perform more complex or specialized phlebotomy procedures as required, often with minimal supervision.

We are seeking a detail-oriented Phlebotomy Technician to join our healthcare team.
