Prime Healthcare at St. Mary's Medical Center in Blue Springs, MO is seeking a detail-oriented Phlebotomy Technician per diem to join the Clinical Lab team. You will draw blood samples, prepare patients, and ensure specimen labeling and transport for accurate testing. The role requires HS diploma, BLS within 45 days, and up to two years of clinical lab experience; phlebotomy experience preferred. Shifts are 8-hour blocks (morning or afternoon).

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, or equivalent required.
• BLS certification within 45 days of hire and maintained current, required.
• Minimum of two (2) years of clinical laboratory experience, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for blood draws, explain procedures, and ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the process
• Collect blood via venipuncture, capillary puncture, or other techniques with proper ID and labeling
• Organize, transport, and store specimens for laboratory testing
• Adhere to quality control and safety protocols to maintain specimen integrity and test accuracy
• Maintain and calibrate phlebotomy equipment and supplies, ensuring proper sanitation
• Perform more complex phlebotomy procedures as required with minimal supervision

Shifts Available: 8-hour shifts (5:00 am to 1:30 pm or 1:00 pm to 5:30 pm)

Location: St. Mary's Medical Center- Blue Springs, MO

We are seeking a detail-oriented Phlebotomy Technician to join our healthcare team. As a Phlebotomy Technician, you will be responsible for drawing blood samples and ensuring their quality for laboratory testing. Your role is crucial in assisting physicians with accurate diagnostics and patient care.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but is not limited to):

• Prepare patients for blood draws, explain procedures, and ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the process
• Responsible for correct blood collection, draw blood from patients using venipuncture, capillary puncture, or other techniques; ensure proper identification and labeling of specimens
• Organize, handle, and transport specimens to the laboratory for testing, and ensure all specimens are properly processed and stored
• Adhere to quality control and safety protocols to maintain the integrity of specimens and ensure accurate test results
• Maintain and calibrate phlebotomy equipment and supplies, ensure everything is in working order and properly sanitized
• Perform more complex or specialized phlebotomy procedures as required, often with minimal supervision

Qualifications
