Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Collect patient specimens per policy and regulatory standards.
• Link specimens to test orders in LIS/EMR; ensure accuracy.
• Perform and report Point of Care testing as needed.
• Communicate collection issues to nursing staff clearly.
• Support specimen processing and overall lab workflow.

We are seeking a phlebotomist/lab support technician that is confident in their skills, patient focused, positive, and willing to go above and beyond for their patients and peers. Phlebotomy experience is preferred, but not required. We are looking for professionals who like to multi-task and stay busy, and able to adapt to rapidly changing laboratory workflow.

• Part -Time
• Two 12hour shifts
• 5:00AM -5:30PM with rotating weekends/holidays
• The job is 50% phlebotomy and 50% specimen processing.

The Work:

• Collects patient specimens in accordance with laboratory's policy, procedures and regulatory standards.
• Correlates patient samples to provider laboratory test orders in the LIS/EMR.
• Performs and reports Point of Care laboratory testing as required.
• Uses education and experience to identify and resolve patient circumstances that might interfere with accurate sample collection.
• Communicates effectively with nursing and unit staff to relay information concerning patient collections.
