Job summary

Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, part of the Optum family, seeks a phlebotomist to perform venipunctures and CLIA waived tests across multiple locations in Houston. You will maintain accurate records and support quality control processes in a fast-paced clinical setting.

The role requires high school diploma, BLS certification within 30 days, and prior phlebotomy experience with proficiency in lab operations. Bilingual abilities and EPIC software familiarity are a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent from an accredited school.
• Ability to obtain BLS through American Heart Association within 30 days of employment.
• 2+ years of experience required if completion of an accredited Phlebotomy Program OR 3+ years of directly related experience as a phlebotomist in a patient service center, clinic, or hospital setting with 1+ years of waived testing and specimen processing experience in clinical setting.
• Must complete the KSC review/skill validation program within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform pediatric and adult venipunctures, finger sticks, heel sticks, and other collection services as ordered by the provider.
• Perform CLIA waived testing with minimal supervision.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records and be available for inspections/audits.
• Perform quality controls and participate in proficiency testing as required.
