Job summary

Banner Health is seeking a Phlebotomy Specialist to collect and process specimens across hospital facilities, PSCs, IOPs or mobile services. You will verify patient data, prepare samples for testing, and ensure specimen integrity while supporting billing and quality measures.

The role requires phlebotomy certification, a high school diploma or equivalent, and flexibility to work across locations including weekends and holidays. Travel to mobile sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18 and compliance with state requirements.
• High school diploma or equivalent may be required by state rules.
• Completion of phlebotomy program or phlebotomy experience.
• Phlebotomy certification as defined by state regulations.
• Ability to obtain DHS fingerprinting certification if required.
• Valid state driver's license may be required depending on location.
• Flexibility to cover multiple locations including mobile sites.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens and ensure correct patient and specimen identification.
• Enter and verify demographics, tests requested and relevant data in the system.
• Prepare samples for transport and initial processing; ensure sample quality.
• Maintain documentation and participate in quality and cost reduction efforts.
• Provide courteous, professional service and support to internal and external customers.
• Work across departments and locations, including weekends/holidays as needed.
