Job summary

Quest Diagnostics is seeking a Phlebotomist I in Palm Desert, CA. This role requires a state phlebotomy license and offers a 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM schedule, Monday through Friday with rotational weekends. Pay range is $24.00 - $25.70 per hour.

The candidate will collect specimens, process specimens, and maintain logs and documentation. A high school diploma and relevant medical training are required, with phlebotomy certification preferred in CA, NV, and WA.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical training such as medical assistant or paramedic preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in CA, NV, and WA.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures.
• Administer oral solutions according to established training.
• Research test/client information and confirm and verify orders using lab systems.
• Navigate a computer and accurately enter data.
• Obtain identification and enter billing information and collect payments as required.
• Process specimens including labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing and transport prep.
• Perform non-patient facing duties such as inventory, stock, sanitizing, filing, and email/phone tasks.
• Read and comply with departmental policies, protocols and procedures.
• Assist with compilation and submission of statistics and data.
• Maintain phlebotomy logs and temperature logs in a timely manner.
