Job summary

Quest Diagnostics Incorporated in Palm Desert, CA seeks a Phlebotomist I to collect specimens, administer basic solutions, and verify orders with lab systems. The role supports patient services during a Monday–Friday shift with some weekends on a rotating basis.

Candidates should have a high school diploma and phlebotomy certification where required. Experience in customer service and data entry is valuable for accurate records and billing processes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical training such as medical assistant or paramedic is preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred and required in CA/NV/WA where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures (drug screens, biometric screening, insurance exams).
• Administer oral solutions as trained.
• Verify orders using lab systems and client contact.
• Enter data accurately and navigate computer systems.
• Obtain identification and process billing information following policies.
• Process specimens including labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing and transport preparation.
• Perform non-patient duties like inventory, sanitizing, and filing.
• Maintain phlebotomy logs and complete training courses timely.
