Job summary

UHC United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, West Virginia is seeking a Phlebotomist. You will draw blood, label specimens, operate basic lab equipment, and maintain accurate records while minimizing patient discomfort.

Responsibilities include specimen processing, communicating with patients and staff, and handling clerical tasks. Travel between facilities may be required; this role is non-exempt with a scheduled 24-hour week.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• PhlebotomyCertification (CPT) preferred.
• Six (6) months of phlebotomy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Consistently draws blood competently and expediently with minimal patient discomfort across age groups.
• Properly labels all specimens in the presence of the patient.
• Operate basic laboratory equipment (e.g., centrifuges, computer systems, labeling printers, scanners, etc.).
• Communicate effectively with patients, clients, and staff.
• Perform clerical duties such as filing, report distribution, processing, and faxing.
• Collect drug screens using Chain of Custody Process if applicable.
