Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• NHA Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) certification or equivalent.
• Driver License.
• Up to 1 year of direct experience performing the exact or very similar duties required by the job within the same role or function.
• Up to 1 year of experience in the same work environment or setting (hospital, practice, department/division).
• Up to 1 year of technical/systems experience using specialized tools, software, or equipment required for the role.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy and specimen collection for inpatient, outpatient, and assigned off-site patients.
• Verify patient identity, test orders, and collection requirements before each draw to protect patient safety and specimen integrity.
• Enter and verify laboratory test orders in the EHR, resolve incomplete requisition details for compliant order processing.
• Prioritize STAT, timed, and routine draws across rotational assignments to meet turnaround-time expectations.
• Process, label, store, and transport specimens according to established procedures.
• Assist with outpatient reception, phones, patient flow, and clerical tasks to keep the department running efficiently.
