Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent with at least 6 months of related experience.
  • CPR certification is required.
  • CDL pre-qualifications and CDL issuance required when assigned to mobiles.

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership, instruction, and guidance to collection staff during blood drives or at branches.
  • Ensures staff follow applicable policies and procedures.
  • Obtains medical history and vitals from donors and/or patients.
  • Performs phlebotomy and collection procedures to collect blood or blood components.
  • Reviews donor records and regulated documents for accuracy and completion at shift end.
  • Assists with donor recruitment and supports collection goals including ALYX conversions and split rates.
  • Ensures equipment is operational and supplies are available for drives/branch operations.
  • Monitors deferrals and training needs; communicates issues to Donor Recruitment staff.
  • Delivers excellent customer service and professionalism to all customers.
  • If mobile, drives the bloodmobile and other collection vehicles to sites.
