Responsibilities

• Supervises the operation of the phlebotomy team and day-to-day workflow.
• Assists with selecting and hiring employees; supervises and evaluates staff.
• Schedules and adjusts staff to meet facility needs, including wage and hour considerations.
• Supervises daily duties and outcomes of phlebotomy staff; prioritizes STAT, ASAP, and outpatient orders.
• Ensures staff are properly trained for specimen handling and LIS entry.
• May coordinate health fairs and low-cost blood screens.
