Job summary

Memorial Health is seeking a phlebotomy supervisor to direct specimen collection operations and oversee staff in the phlebotomy department. This role reviews lab reports for accuracy and timeliness, and remediates deficiencies impacting patient care.

The ideal candidate will have 7+ years phlebotomy experience, a Bachelor's degree, and the ability to lead, train, and coordinate resources to maintain high-quality patient services.

  • Phlebotomy experience and knowledge of specimen collection procedures.
  • Supervisory experience or capacity to lead staff.
  • Strong communication skills for medical laypersons.

Job Summary And Qualifications
  • Directs the operation of specimen collection and staff/supplies in the phlebotomy department.
  • Directs, consults, and supervises the operation of the phlebotomy department.
  • Reviews laboratory reports for completeness, timeliness, and accuracy, and remediates deficiencies, including patient care issues.
  • Supervisory impact includes decisions and actions that affect others in the department.
  • Communicates technical information to medical lay persons.
  • Ensures adequate specimen containers/supplies for the department, hospital, and external clients.
  • Acts as a working supervisor/work leader for one or more employees in the department when needed.
  • Promotes consistent positive interactions that advance patient service.
  • Practices and adheres to the Code of Conduct philosophy and Mission and Value Statement.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Associate's degree.
  • Bachelor's degree (Required).
  • 7+ years of phlebotomy experience (Required).
  • Less than 1 year of experience in phlebotomy management (Preferred).
