Pretorian Labs is seeking a dedicated Specimen Processor/Phlebotomist in Toledo, OH. The role involves phlebotomy, specimen processing, and data entry within a clinical laboratory setting. You will handle urine, blood, and other specimens, maintaining strict safety and HIPAA standards.

The position emphasizes accurate patient identification, teamwork, and strong customer service while supporting multiple lab departments and reference laboratories as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of phlebotomy experience; certification required upon hire or within 6 months of hire.
• Prior experience in a customer service or patient care environment.
• Experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
• Comfortable handling biological specimens and PPE; HIPAA knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate collection, processing and shipping of urine, blood and other specimens.
• Identify patients accurately and follow collection procedures.
• Enter outpatient orders into the Laboratory Information System.
• Register patients and record demographic, insurance and clinical data.
• Process and prepare specimens ensuring proper identification and integrity.
• Facilitate drug screens per protocol.
• Order phlebotomy supplies and manage inventory.
• Package and ship specimens to reference labs as required.
• Prepare samples for transport to testing departments.
• Maintain clean and organized patient/work areas.
• Demonstrate customer service and compassion to patients and staff.
