Job summary

Qualifications

• 6 months phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Education: high school diploma and approved phlebotomy course.
• Certification: CPT phlebotomy certification preferred and valid Maryland driver’s license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to department goals and adheres to safety standards.
• Collects blood via venipuncture or capillary methods per policy.
• Ensures correct patient identification and proper labeling of specimens.
• Verifies insurance information and enters data to register and accession orders.
• Maintains sanitary work area and assists with equipment and supply needs.
• Participates in training and committee activities as required.
