Job summary

University of Maryland Medical System Corporation is seeking a Phlebotomist to perform high‑level venipuncture, specimen collection, and lab support. The role requires accurate data entry and coordination with staff to ensure specimen integrity.

The candidate will work Monday–Friday (4:30am–9:00am), with every other weekend shifts; prior healthcare experience is preferred and additional phlebotomy certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.
• Completion of an accredited program in phlebotomy is required.
• Experience in a healthcare environment is required.

Responsibilities

• Obtains venous and/or capillary blood specimens according to established procedures.
• Utilizes a computerized system for logging and tracking specimen collection and patient information.
• Operates centrifuge and microscope.
• Effectively communicates with laboratory and medical staff regarding specimens and labeling.
• Assist in training of new personnel and don donor blood collections if applicable.
