Qualifications

• Familiar with medical terminology; computer data entry; organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs phlebotomy including venipuncture and specimen collection.
• Receives and processes specimens, referrals, and packaging for outside labs as needed.
• Maintains collection trays/areas in a neat and sanitary condition and restocks as necessary.
• Ensures compliance with CAP, JCAHO, OSHA, infection control, safety, and PHI privacy standards.
• Operates the laboratory computer system to document specimen information, patient registration, orders, and lists.
• Performs on-call/stand-by duties and participates in cross-training and inventory tasks.
