Job summary

Citizens Medical Center, a not-for-profit hospital serving the South Texas region, is seeking a Phlebotomist I to join the Laboratory team. The role involves specimen collection in outpatient and inpatient locations, handling high-volume requests, and working with diverse age groups.

Duties may include specimen processing, registration, test ordering, and inventory support. The ideal candidate will have 6 months to 1 year of phlebotomy experience, strong communication and customer service

Qualifications

• Phlebotomist I requires 6 months to 1 year of phlebotomy experience.
• Strong communication and customer service skills are essential.
• Ability to adapt to a flexible work schedule in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine phlebotomy and handle clerical tasks as assigned.
• Prioritize specimen collection by STAT/Timed/Urgent/Routine.
• Respond to Code alerts and maintain infection control with PPE.
• Maintain timely specimen transport and communicate with lab staff.
• Assist with supply orders and inventory for the Laboratory.
