Job summary

Marshall Medical Centers is seeking a Phlebotomist to perform venipunctures, heelsticks, and fingersticks, ensuring accurate patient identification and specimen collection. You will process and receive specimens, and enter outpatient orders into the Laboratory Information System.

Responsibilities include collecting chain of custody drug screens, assisting with frozen sections, and supporting clerical duties as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; formal phlebotomy training preferred.
• 1 year phlebotomy experience preferred, including neonate to geriatric specimens.
• BLS certification required upon hire or within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs venipunctures, heelsticks, and fingersticks to obtain blood samples.
• Identifies patients accurately and follows specimen collection procedures.
• Processes and logs specimens into the laboratory system; enters outpatient orders.
