Job summary

Concord Hospital is seeking a Phlebotomist to collect venous and capillary blood samples, register patients in the Hospital Information System, and place test orders in the Laboratory Information System. The role supports specimen processing and patient service, with opportunities to train phlebotomy students and staff.

Strong phlebotomy skills and a high school diploma or GED are required; prior phlebotomy experience is highly preferred.

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent (GED).
• Prior phlebotomy experience highly preferred - excellent phlebotomy skills are needed to be successful in this role.

Responsibilities

• Obtains and processes venous and capillary blood samples required for laboratory analysis from patients.
• Performs patient registrations in the Hospital Information System.
• Performs test ordering in the Laboratory Information System.
• Provides customer service to patients and stakeholders of the laboratory department.
• Demonstrates compliance with corporate, departmental and job-specific requirements.
• Supports the training of phlebotomy students, nursing or laboratory personnel, in regards to obtaining,
• Identifies problems related to work activities, including involvement in Quality Assurance and Quality
• Uses resources available to stay up-to-date with new process or flow within the registration/ordering
• Performs other duties as assigned.
