Job description

Description/Comment: The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the face of our company to patients, assisting with health routines and providing insights into health decisions. The PSR II is responsible for drawing quality blood samples and preparing specimens for lab testing, following established procedures. This role involves direct patient contact, requiring the creation of a trustworthy environment, explaining procedures clearly, and performing blood draws safely and accurately. The PSR II demonstrates leadership, process excellence, and confidentiality, with assignments varying between doctor’s offices, patient service centers, or as needed.

  1. Perform daily activities accurately and timely under the supervision of the area supervisor.
  2. Maintain a safe, professional environment.
  3. Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing following established practices.
  4. Verify patient demographic information and signatures post-venipuncture to ensure proper labeling and identification.
  5. Maintain accurate records and documentation.
  6. Promote a positive image and demonstrate organizational commitment to patients, clients, and staff.
Job Requirements:
  1. Ability to deliver error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
  2. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  3. Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
  4. Flexible availability, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime, based on staffing needs.
  5. Adherence to all policies and procedures, including dress code and safety standards.
  6. Good judgment and decision-making skills based on established procedures.
  7. Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record if applicable.
  8. Willingness to travel and work flexible hours across multiple locations with short notice.
  9. Ability to handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
  10. Superior customer focus and effective communication skills.
  11. Comfort with change and understanding of our business.
Training Locations:

Locations vary based on trainer availability.

Required Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Medical training (medical assistant or paramedic) preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
Work Experience:
  • At least three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
  • Preferably two years in a Patient Service Center environment.
  • Customer service experience in retail or service settings preferred.
  • Keyboard and data entry skills required.
