Job Description

The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) represents the face of our company to patients who come in, both as part of their health routine or for insights into life-defining health decisions. The PSR II draws quality blood samples from patients and prepares those specimens for lab testing following established practices and procedures. The PSR II has direct contact with patients and creates an atmosphere of trust and confidence, explaining procedures and drawing blood specimens in a skillful, safe, and accurate manner. The PSR II demonstrates leadership behaviors, focusing on process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy of patient information. Successful applicants may be assigned to a doctor's office, a patient service center, or as needed based on business requirements.

Under the supervision of the area manager, perform daily activities accurately and timely. Maintain a safe and professional environment. Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties. Verify patient demographic information, including initials and signatures post-venipuncture, to ensure proper labeling and identification. Maintain required records and documentation. Promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.

Job Requirements
  • Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.
  • Adherence to all policies and procedures, including dress code and safety guidelines.
  • Good judgment and decision-making skills based on established procedures.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record if applicable.
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible hours across multiple locations with minimal notice.
  • Capable of managing multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
  • Superior customer focus, effective communication skills, adaptability to change, and business knowledge.
Training Locations

May vary based on trainer availability.

Required Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Medical training such as medical assistant or paramedic preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
Work Experience
  • Minimum three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
  • At least two years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
  • Customer service experience in retail or service sectors preferred.
  • Keyboard/data entry experience.
