Job Description: Patient Services Representative II

The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) represents the face of our company to patients, whether as part of their routine health visits or for important health decisions. The PSR II draws quality blood samples and prepares specimens for lab testing, following established practices and procedures. They have direct contact with patients, creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence by explaining procedures and drawing blood in a skillful, safe, and accurate manner. The PSR II demonstrates leadership behaviors, focusing on process excellence and maintaining confidentiality and accuracy of patient information. Depending on business needs, they may be assigned to a doctor's office, a patient service center, or other locations.

Under the supervision of the area manager, the PSR II performs daily activities accurately and punctually, maintains a safe and professional environment, and performs both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties. They verify patient demographic information, including signatures post-venipuncture, and maintain required records and documentation. The role requires demonstrating organizational commitment and promoting a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.

  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.
  • Adherence to all policies, including dress code and safety protocols.
  • Good judgment and decision-making skills based on established procedures.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record if applicable.
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible hours across multiple locations.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
  • Strong customer focus, open communication, and adaptability to change.
Training and Location:

Training locations vary based on trainer availability. Candidates must ensure their commute is within 20-25 minutes to the worksite.

Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
  • Minimum three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
  • Experience in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
  • Customer service experience in retail or service sectors preferred.
  • Keyboard and data entry skills required.
