Job Description: Patient Services Representative II

The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) represents the face of our company to patients, whether as part of their routine health visits or for insights into health decisions. The PSR II draws quality blood samples and prepares specimens for lab testing, following established practices and procedures. This role involves direct patient contact, creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence, and explaining procedures clearly while drawing blood safely and accurately. The PSR II demonstrates leadership behaviors, focusing on process excellence and maintaining confidentiality and accuracy of patient information. Responsibilities may include work at a doctor's office, patient service center, or as dictated by business needs.

  1. Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the supervision of the area supervisor.
  2. Maintain a safe and professional environment.
  3. Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties confidently, following established procedures.
  4. Verify patient demographic information and initials, including post-venipuncture signature, to ensure proper labeling and identification.
  5. Maintain required records and documentation.
  6. Promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public, demonstrating organizational commitment.
Job Requirements
  • Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime based on staffing needs.
  • Adherence to all policies and procedures, including dress code and safety protocols.
  • Good judgment and decision-making skills based on established procedures.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record if applicable.
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible hours across multiple locations with minimal notice.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
  • Superior customer focus and excellent communication skills.
  • Willingness to embrace change and demonstrate knowledge of our business.
Training and Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Medical training (medical assistant or paramedic) preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
Work Experience
  • Minimum three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
  • At least two years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
  • Customer service experience in retail or service sectors preferred.
  • Keyboard/data entry skills and strong processing skills required.
Additional Details

Candidates must list home city and commute time on their resume; rate is based on direct experience. Reliable transportation is required; public transit or rideshare is not considered reliable. Candidates must be within a 20-25 minute commute to ensure punctuality. Excessive absenteeism or tardiness may lead to termination. Training locations vary based on trainer availability.
