Title: Phlebotomist II

Location: Johnson City, Tennessee, 37601
Shift: Monday and Wednesday 8:00am-1:30pm (no lunch), Tuesday and Thursday 8:00am-5:00pm (30 minutes lunch)
Description:
- The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) represents the face of our company to patients who come in, both as part of their health routine or for insights into life-defining health decisions.
- The PSR II draws quality blood samples from patients and prepares those specimens for lab testing while following established practices and procedures.
- The PSR II has direct contact with patients and creates an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures and drawing blood specimens in a skillful, safe, and accurate manner.
- The PSR II demonstrates leadership behaviors while focusing on process excellence skills and sensitivity to confidentiality and accuracy of patient information.
- Successful applicants may be assigned to a doctor's office, a patient service center, or as needed based on business requirements.
- Under the supervision of the area manager, perform daily activities accurately and timely.
- Maintain a safe and professional environment.
- Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures with confidence.
- Verify patient demographic information and initials, including patient signatures post-venipuncture, to ensure tubes are labeled in their presence and that labels are correct.
- Maintain required records and documentation.
- Promote a positive image and demonstrate organizational commitment to patients, clients, employees, and the public.

- Ability to produce quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime based on staffing needs.
- Adherence to all policies and procedures, including dress code, health and safety protocols, and guiding principles.
- Good judgment and decision-making skills based on established procedures.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record if applicable.
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours across multiple locations with minimal notice.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
- Superior customer focus with open and transparent communication skills.
- Training locations may vary based on trainer availability.
Required Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Medical training such as medical assistant or paramedic preferred.
Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
Work Experience:
At least three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
Minimum two years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
Customer service experience in retail or service settings preferred.
Keyboard/data entry experience required.
