Job description

Description/Comment: The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) is the frontline representative of our company to patients, engaging with them during their health routines or critical health decisions. The PSR II is responsible for drawing quality blood samples, preparing specimens for lab testing, and maintaining a safe, professional environment. They must communicate effectively to build trust and confidence with patients, explaining procedures clearly and performing blood draws skillfully, safely, and accurately. The role demonstrates leadership behaviors, process excellence, and confidentiality, with assignments varying between doctor’s offices, patient service centers, or as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Perform daily activities accurately and timely under the supervision of the area supervisor.
  2. Maintain a safe and professional environment.
  3. Conduct forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing following established protocols.
  4. Verify patient demographic information and labels to ensure accuracy and proper identification.
  5. Keep required records and documentation up to date.
  6. Promote a positive image and demonstrate organizational commitment to patients, clients, and staff.
Job Requirements:
  • Ability to deliver high-quality, error-free work in a fast-paced setting.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.
  • Adherence to all policies, including dress code, safety, and company principles.
  • Sound judgment and decision-making skills based on established procedures.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record, if applicable.
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible hours across multiple locations.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a high-volume environment.
  • Superior customer focus and strong communication skills.
  • Willingness to embrace change and understand our business.
Training and Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Medical training such as medical assistant or paramedic preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
Work Experience:
  • Minimum three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
  • Preferred two years in a Patient Service Center environment.
  • Customer service experience in retail or service sectors is advantageous.
  • Keyboard/data entry experience required.
