Job description

Job Title: Phlebotomist Patient Services Representative

Location: Edina, MN

Duration: 4-month Contract

Work Type: Onsite

Pay Range: $25/Hr

Shift/Time Zone: Central / 8am-4:30pm

Job Description:
  1. The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) is the face of our company to patients, providing support during health routines or health-related decisions.
  2. Draws quality blood samples and prepares specimens for lab testing following established procedures.
  3. Creates a trusting environment by explaining procedures clearly and drawing blood skillfully, safely, and accurately.
  4. Demonstrates leadership, process excellence, and confidentiality while focusing on accuracy of patient information.
  5. May be assigned to various locations such as doctor’s offices or patient service centers based on business needs.
  6. Performs daily activities accurately and timely under supervision, maintaining a safe and professional environment.
  7. Handles forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing per established practices.
  8. Verifies patient demographic info and signatures post-venipuncture to ensure proper labeling and identification.
  9. Maintains required records and documentation.
  10. Promotes a positive image and demonstrates organizational commitment to patients, clients, and staff.
Job Requirements:
  1. Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
  2. Work independently with minimal supervision.
  3. Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
  4. Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.
  5. Adherence to policies, safety, and dress code.
  6. Good judgment and decision-making skills based on established procedures.
  7. Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record if applicable.
  8. Willingness to travel and work flexible hours across multiple locations.
  9. Ability to handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
  10. Superior customer focus and effective communication skills.
  11. Training location may vary based on trainer availability.
Required Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Medical training (medical assistant or paramedic preferred).
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
Work Experience:
  • At least three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
  • Minimum two years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
  • Customer service experience in retail or service sectors preferred.
  • Keyboard/data entry experience.
