Job description

Description/Comment: The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) is the frontline representative of the company to patients, handling blood sample collection and preparation for lab testing following established procedures. The PSR I fosters trust and confidence with patients by explaining procedures and performing blood draws skillfully, safely, and accurately. Demonstrating leadership behaviors, the PSR I focuses on process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy of patient information.

Responsibilities:

1. Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the supervision of the area supervisor.
2. Maintain a safe and professional environment.
3. Collect and process forensic and clinical specimens confidently, following established practices.
4. Maintain required records and documentation.
5. Promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.

Job Requirements:

• Ability to deliver quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric.
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical training (medical assistant or paramedic) preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).

Work Experience:

• Minimum of 6 months of experience required; 1+ years preferred.
• Customer service experience in retail or service environment preferred.
• Keyboard/data entry experience is essential.
