Job Description for Patient Services Representative I

The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) represents the face of the company to patients, assisting them as part of their health routine or for insights into health decisions.

The PSR I draws quality blood samples from patients and prepares specimens for lab testing, following established practices and procedures.

The PSR I maintains direct contact with patients, creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence, explaining procedures, and drawing blood specimens in a skillful, safe, and accurate manner.

This role demonstrates leadership behaviors with a focus on process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy of patient information.

Under the supervision of the area manager, perform daily activities accurately and timely, maintaining a safe and professional environment.

Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties confidently, following established protocols.

Maintain required records and documentation, and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
• Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric.
• Minimum of 6 months of experience; 1+ years preferred.
• Customer service experience in retail or service settings preferred.
• Keyboard/data entry experience is required.
• Candidates should reside within a 20-25 minute commute to ensure coverage flexibility.
