Title: Phlebotomist Floater - 1st Shift
Location: Waterbury, CT 06708
Duration: 3 Months
Hours: Vary Between 6am to 6pm (float between Cheshire, Prospect, Waterbury, and Southbury)
State of Credentials/Licenses Required: Phlebotomy certificate

Job Description:

1. The Phlebotomist III - Float represents the face of our company to patients who come to ***, either as part of their routine health checks or for critical health decisions.
2. The Phlebotomist III - Float draws quality blood samples from patients and prepares those specimens for lab testing following established practices and procedures.
3. They have direct contact with patients, creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence, explaining procedures clearly, and drawing blood in a skillful, safe, and accurate manner.
4. The role involves providing coverage at multiple locations and roles, ensuring daily activities in Patient Service Centers, Mobile units, Long Term Care, or In-Office Phlebotomy are completed accurately and timely.
5. The Phlebotomist III - Float demonstrates leadership behaviors, focusing on process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy of patient information.
6. Successful candidates may work in a doctor's office, patient service center, house call environment, long-term care, or as dictated by business needs.
7. Must be able to step in for a Phlebotomist III - Float and lead on-site staff, acting as a coach, mentor, instructor, and resource advisor for new employees, providing onboarding and acting as a point of contact.
8. May focus on high-complexity or high-volume practices requiring advanced phlebotomy skills, along with superior customer-facing skills including communication, problem-solving, and collaboration across multiple functions such as Sales, Laboratory Testing, IT, Billing, and Logistics.
9. Must handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting effectively.

Required Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical training preferred: medical assistant or paramedic training.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.

Work Experience:

• Minimum five years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
• At least 3 years in a Patient Service Center (PSC) or In-Office Phlebotomy (IOP) environment preferred.
• Customer service experience in retail or service settings preferred.
• Keyboard and data entry experience.
