Job summary

South Shore Health in Rockland, MA seeks a part-time phlebotomist to join our laboratory team. This 25-hour-per-week role focuses on accurate specimen collection, labeling, and timely transport to the testing lab.

You will perform venipuncture, fingerstick, and heelstick, assist with newborn screens, and support EKG and point-of-care tasks as needed. Training interns and maintaining quality standards are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of phlebotomy experience, including specimen collection.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy (venipuncture, fingerstick, heelstick) per established procedures.
• Label specimen tubes with two identifiers and ensure proper patient ID.
• Prioritize STAT draws and arrange timely transport to the lab.
• Conduct nasopharyngeal, Covid/Flu, and Strep collections as trained.
• Maintain equipment cleanliness and assist with data entry and reception as needed.
