UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville, FL is seeking a Lab PAA/Phlebotomist to perform routine venipuncture and specimen collection, and to prepare samples for laboratory analysis. The role supports microbiology, hematology, immunohematology, and chemistry testing within a teaching hospital setting.

Qualified applicants will have a high school diploma, phlebotomy training, and strong interpersonal, communication, and multitasking abilities.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; phlebotomy training completed.
• Preferred: additional health-related coursework or science studies.
• Good computer skills and hospital IT familiarity.

Responsabilités

• Perform routine venipuncture and specimen collection.
• Collect, prepare, process, and store specimens for lab analysis.
• Run basic laboratory procedures and tests as directed.
• Release and place orders using hospital systems.
• Prepare and package specimens for transport to external labs.
