UF Health is seeking a dedicated Phlebotomist to join our Gainesville lab team. You will perform venipuncture and specimen collection for patients across age groups, while entering orders in LIS/HIS and ensuring accurate documentation for billing.

The role involves preparing samples for testing, operating laboratory equipment, and supporting clinicians with reliable lab data and patient care. A phlebotomy credential and strong communication are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy training or 6 months of recent phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Graduation from a health-related program or AP science courses preferred.
• GPA of 3.0 or above preferred.
• Must have computer skills and be able to use lab information systems.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and advanced venipuncture and specimen collection on infant, pediatric and adult patients.
• Receives specimens and enters orders in LIS/HIS, ensuring complete documentation for proper billing.
• Prepares samples for testing and handles preanalytical processing for various analyses.
• Operates and maintains laboratory equipment.
• Provides information and assistance to health-care providers, patients and coworkers.
• Adjusts daily tasks to workflow with periods of varying activity.
